The Kings Head, in the pretty village of Shadoxhurst, exudes period charm while offering modern facilities, good food, good service and good value. The building dates back in part to 1580 and retains some fine architectural features, notably the old porch with the family crest of the original owners.
Ideally located for woodland walks and countryside rambles, the pub has a comfortable and attractively furnished bar where a good selection of cask ales are always offered, with a wide selection of wines.
The restaurant, the deserving winner of 'Pub Food of the Year' 2009, serves excellent contemporary gastro-pub style food, the menu incorporating the pub’s own home-grown vegetables, salads and herbs.
The Kings Head also has a large garden and inside there are darts and pool for entertainment.
